المبايض المتعددة الأكياس:
تصيب فئة من المرضى حوالي 10% من النساء في سن النضج الجنسي وتتصف بما يلي:
1- اضطرابات الدورة الشهرية كانقطاع الدورة أو ندرتها في 80%.
2- ارتفاع الهرمون الذكري: ويتظاهر بازدياد نمو الشعر وحب الشباب 50-70%.
3- السمنة ونسبتها 35%.
يتم تشخيص هذه الحالة بفحص هرمونات الدم وعن طريق إجراء فحص بالأمواج الصوتية عن طرق المهبل حيث يظهر هذا الفحص وجود أكياس صغيرة على أحد المبيضين أو كليهما وقد يتضخم حجم المبيضين أيضاً.
ويتم علاج هذه الحالة بإعطاء منشطات المبايض (الكلوميد) وفي حال عدم استجابة المبايض لها يمكن وصف علاج يسمى (غلوكافاج) وهو دواء يوصف لمرضى السكر ولكنه يوصف في حالة المبايض المتعددة الأكياس لمعالجة الاضطرابات الهرمونية المرافقة، كما يساعد في تحسين استجابة المبايض للكلوميد وهذا بدوره يسهم في حدوث الإباضة في بعض الحالات.
